Many features in OUTERPLANE are not available right away. Here is a quick overview of when each mode unlocks during the story.

| Skyward Tower | S1-3-13 : Her Name is Alpha | Monthly reset tower with rewards + obtain Sigma |
| Arena | S1-4-6 : The Commander’s Sophistry | PvP mode against AI defense team |
| The Archdemon's Ruins: The Deeps | S1-5-1 : Onwards to Magnolia | Various one-time rewards |
| Talisman | S1-5-1 : Onwards to Magnolia | Unlock the talisman equipment slot |
| Challenge! Special Request: Ecology Study | S1-5-5 : A Temporary Truce | Main place to farm armor sets |
